Silay City holds “Tripple Tourism Treats” on Friday; July 30, 2010 to culminate its Tourism July Program.

The Barangay Treasurers and Book Record Keepers’ Association of Escalante City will have its mangrove tour and eco-diversity interaction at Silay City’s Nature’s Eco park at Barangay Balaring.

Tours and lecture on mangrove rehabilitation will be conducted by Leo Canson and Sachiko Tokomura of IKAW-AKO Japan-Negros Partnership for Environmental Protection in coordination with Japan International Agency Cooperation.

The Department of Education( DepED)  Central Office had launched the 2nd Awarding Ceremony for Library Hub Partners and Stakeholders at Bulwagan ng Karunungan,  DepED Complex, Meralco Ave. Pasig City, May 27, 2010. The activity aims to give due honor and recognition to Non-government and Government individuals, institutions and offices who take part in the realization of the Library Hub Project.

1. Contest is open to all Pro and Amateur Photographers

2. Entries must be taken during “Hugyaw Silay 2010 Street Dance Contest”

3. Contestant must use a Digital Camera

4. Entry must not be edited or manipulated in computer, only cropping is allowed

5. Entries size must be 8x10 and 8x12

6. Entries will be a property of Silay City Government after judging

DepEd Silay City has conducted the Division Summer Training for teachers, April 26-27, 2010 at the Hon. Jose Locsin Civic and Cultural Center,this city.

The training aims to enhance the skills of Grade 1 and preschool teachers in handling Grade 1 pupils enrolled in the Summer Preschool Class launched by the DepED Central office which started April 12 and will end on May 20, 2010.
