Youth Leadership Camp

A Youth Leadership Camp participated by the Youth Leaders of the different barangays of Silay City was conducted at Brgy.Patag, Silay City, May 30-31, 2009.

The activity, spearheaded by the MAED Scholars of Silay, aims to hone the leadership skills and potentials of the future hope of the fatherland. Lectures and various group activities were given by Mr. Jeruhwell Pedroso, elementary school teacher of Silay North Elementary School, Mrs. Tisa solinap and other members of the MAEd Executive Committee.

Hon. Jose L. Montelibano, City Mayor, Silay City gave inspiring messages and shared his vision, plans for the city, with the youth as the forefront.

"Give Silay Your Best!"  the motto which the mayor had always stressed to every Silaynon, was  posed by Mayor Oti as a challenge to  the participants.

Despite cool breeze and fog, the Youth Leaders enjoyed the event.

" Now we are more aware of our responsibilities in building a strong community, city and nation as well, said a youth participant.We thank the mayor for giving us the opportunity to attend this camp. We enjoyed it and we win more friends."

The MAEd Scholars have more incoming activities for the youth.
