The members of the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Silay City and Cavite City will have their interactive sharing of flagship programs and best practices at Balay Negrense Museum on Jan. 31.
Silay hometown and “One-Town-One-Product” delicacies will be featured during “Pamahaw Silaynon” at the sala of Balay Negrense to be followed by the presentation of Silay tourism program.
April de los Reyes, federation president of SK-Silay, and Lloyd Matthew Santiago, federation of SK-Cavite City will facilitate their program presentation.
De los Reyes said that Silay SK Federation has facilitated leadership program for the youth, assistance to indigent families, feeding program to the street children, participation in the Christmas Village, mini-livelihood program, Kansilay Festival sponsorship, mangrove rehabilitation, inter-barangay sports competition, and SK pageant.
Santiago will also highlight his youth development program in sports, culture, livelihood tourism, education, leadership and information technology.
To seal the friendship and camaraderie of two SK federations, a “Magkaibigan Volleyball Exhibition Game” will be held at Silay plaza covered court in coordination with Natalio G. Velez Sports and Cultural Center staff.
Mayor Jose Montelibano said that Silay City made an agreement with Mayor Bernardo Paredes of Cavite City that their two cities will have a mutual coordination in programs implementation in arts, culture, tourism, trade and information technology.
“Rediscover Silay” a docu-drama on Silay history will be presented at the Planta Hotel as an integral part of the workshop-seminar for SK participants.
