The Philippine Elementary School Principals' Association (PESPA) Region IV Chapter Officers' conference was hosted recently by Silay North Elementary School in coordination with Silay City Government and PESPA - Silay Chapter.
Important item taken up in the agenda is pay equalization as achievement of the organization wherein the elementary school principals now have the same salary with secondary principals.
Other matters taken up are the salient features of RA 9155 which contain Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE), School - Based Management (SBM), Authority, Responsibility and Accountability (AURA), and Principal - Led Building Repairs (PLBP).
Mayor Jose L. Montelibano said that PESPA's participation in educational reforms infrastructure, and teaching - learning strategies will be given full support in Silay.
The officers present are Dr. Milocroton Contreras, president (Capiz); Jose Ferdinand Navarro, vice president (Payao); Merceditas Suravilla, secretary (Bacolod); and Dr. Evelyn Remo, treasurer (Antique).
The board members are Zenia Billones, Silay; Carmen Navarro, Bacolod; Helen Caceres, Cadiz; Velea Tupas, Sagay; Leny Nillos, La Carlota; Dr. Dominica Porcia, Iloilo City; Rex Gardoce, Iloilo Prov.; Nora Castellano, Passi; Emelda Fuentes, Aklan; Maristelle Tumbagahan, Aklan; Ma. Portia Galanto, Guimaras; and Dr. Edmund Fantilanan, Roxas.
The guest speaker was Sherwin Mananquil, PESPA director of Region VII.
Mananquil talked on the ideals in management, education system policies, school improvement, effective linkaging and financial sourcing.
