Lin-ay sang Silay 2009

Fifteen ladies will vie for this year’s title “Lin-ay sang Silay 2009” at the Search for Lin-ay sang Silay 2009 on June 10, 7:00 in the evening at the Natalio G. Velez Sports and Cultural Center.

The candidates, who were all winners of their respective barangay-level beauty pageants, include Ailyn Silva of Brgy. I, Ejieh Mae Aguilar of Brgy. II, Katrina Flores of Brgy. IV, Jonah Llano of Brgy. V, Narlet Doloso of Brgy. Mambulac, Evie Quillain of Brgy. Rizal and Candy Lou Doromal of Brgy. Balaring. Amber Dana Dawn Goylos of Brgy. Lantad, Cybhel Monteras of Brgy. Capitan Ramon, Jogie de Pedro of Brgy.. Bagtic, Vanessa Recente of Brgy. E. Lopez, Shiela Marie Argente of Brgy. Hawaiian, Anne Marie Drua of Brgy. Patag, Karen Ty of Brgy. Guinhalaran and Michelle Villalba of Brgy. Guimbalaon.

Marissa Montelibano, executive producer, said “the pageant will focus on the theme ‘Women of the 21st Century’- the ladies of the modern era who are powerful, persuasive and tough. This is what the show is all about, the Silaynon women of beauty and determination”.

Judges for the pageant are Ronnie Baldonado, visual artist ; Carmen Flor, governor of Soroptimist International ; Liza Berroya, former Binibining Pilipinas ; Jose Alberto Sanchez, well-known couturier of Iloilo; Edwin Trompeta, DOT regional director in Western Visayas and Peque Gallaga, film director and artist-in-residence of USLS.

The ladies will also compete in the talent night competition on June 7, Sunday, at the Silay Public Plaza covered court. Rudy Reveche, Milton Dionzon and Tanya Lopez will compose the board of judges.

The Search for Lin-ay sang Silay 2009 is being produced by the Silay City Government. The production staff is composed of Marissa Montelibano, executive producer; Armin Paredes, manager; Neil Solomon Locsin, publicity and promotion; Ver Pacete, script writer; Janette Sanchez, artistic director; Maida Jison, artistic director; Michael Angelo Golez, director; Janette Sanchez, choreographer; Carmelo Escototo, rehearsal master; Georgette Sanchez, choreographer; Clarisse Salmingo, stage manager; Cerey Cabalatungan, house manager; Achilles Corteza III, production designer; Glenda Pacheco, production assistant; and the staff of Silay City Tourism and Community Affairs Office .

This is in line with Silay City’s 52nd Charter Anniversary Celebration on June 6 to 12. The theme is “Bulawanon nga Kahapon, Masanag nga Palaabuton.”
