King and Queen of Hearts 2010
John Ver Pacete and Jessa Ren will be crowned King and Queen of Hearts 2010 at Silay covered court on Feb. 18 (Thursday; 1:30 pm).
Zenia Billones, principal of Silay North Elem. School, said that this activity is designed to promote peace and understanding among the pupils in celebration of Hearts’ Month in February.
Marylou Deocampo, district supervisor, said that the highlight of the ceremony include the cotillion of the King and Queen of Hearts, special dance offerings, wine toast by Marjorie Bastida, English supervisor, proclamation by Julius Ceasar Oñot, and the giving of awards by the parents, advisers and guests.
The princes and the princesses of hearts are Aldwin June Juson and Kalel Joy Alba (first runner-up); Paul Bryan Encargues and Jean Marie Señeres (second runner-up); David Paul Gaston and Danica Britania (third runner-up), Benedict Pedimente and May Nildred Delegero (fourth runner-up) and Ron Alkaid Gulmatico and Faith Hope Lozada (fifth runner-up).
The ceremony will end up with a serenade and a mass dance presentation by different grade levels.
Mayor Jose Montelibano said that this community effort spearheaded by the teachers and parents will help boost the socio-cultural program of Silay City.
