Kids learn new words through Video Clips
"Rain Forest, Cave, Waterfalls!"
These are the new words learned by the 97 pupils of La Purisima Concepcion Elementary School,Silay City in a film viewing presented by Mrs. Marjorie B. Bastida, Preschool Coordinator, DepED Silay City, Friday, April 30, 2010. These children are presently attending the SumPse (Summer Preschool) class of the DepED.
The kids under this program are being prepared before they will enter Grade 1 comes June 2010.
During the film viewing, the children were seated comfortably on mats prepared by Mrs. Ivy Palllorina and Irene Modesto, Grade 1 teachers of LAPCES.
The film viewing started at 9:00 A.M. and ended at 11:30. Some parents also joined watching at the same time learned the words with the kids. They enjoyed the colorful pictures on the film.
An oral test using the newly learned words was given by the grade one teachers, using the multilingual approach.
"This is a wonderful activity for our children. We hope next week there will be another one like this," said one mother.
