Bacolod Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Council, spearheaded by Atty. Jocelle Batapa-Sigue had sponsored a two-day seminar workshop on Communication and Culture Training and Calibration on August 31, 2007 for Bacolod City Schools and September 1, 2007 for Negros Occidental School. Venue of the said training is Sugarland Hotel.
Mrs. Marjorie B. Bastida,ES I- English and ICT Coordinator of DepED Silay, Hon.Mike Maravilla, SP Member-ICT Chairman, and Mrs. Salvacion J. Senayo, Principal I of Violeta Integrated School were Silay City's participants to this orientation-workshop.
The trainers were people from Convergys: Mr. Luis Miguel L.Lopez, Senior Manager for Communication and Culture training of Convergys and Blanch Lapiz.
The workshop intends to give school officials a better understanding of the skills requirements of the contact center industry by presenting an overview of the contact center industry, identify the basic customer service skills required at the entry level, explain the different communication competencies that help ensure customer satisfaction and exposure participants to techniques used by Convergy's.
The training opened with a short program, highlighted by the message of Councilor Batapa.
"The workshop was very useful and it opened our eyes on how the call center industry works. We have realized that effective communication skills is needed to win customers."
"The trainers were excellent" These are the feedback from the participants. They want to have more time or an extension for another day for the training to equip them morefully with other aspects of language.
