ALS FEAR FACTOR

The Department of Education (DepEd), Bureau of Alternative Learning System (BALS) conducted a special training on Survival Skills entitled “ ALS FEAR FACTOR” for all mobile teachers and Regional ALS-Core of Trainers last June 1 to 4, 2009 participated by delegates from Mindanao and Visayas Region held at Malagos Scout Camp, Davao City.

Joebert Libo-on, Chillon Aboy and Conrado Tizo, Alternative Learning School-Mobile Teachers represented the delegates of DepEd, Silay City.

The purpose of the training is to provide the Mobile teachers and Regional Trainors the necessary skills appropriate in reaching out the unreached sector of the society.  ALS Mobile teachers are specialized teachers who conducted an intensive community-based training for Out of School Youth, adults and least learned members of the community who are willing to learn basic literacy skills.

Learning the Principles of International Humanitarian Law which is one of the topics taken during the training lessens the FEAR FACTOR that lies within the hearts of Mobile Teachers in dealing with emergencies.   (MLPioquinto 6/11/09)
